I’m curious—what does self-care mean to you?
As you drive through the desert, you might notice the small, scattered plants, barely holding on. But every so often, you come across a large, flourishing tree. Have you ever wondered how one tree can thrive while the rest struggle? The secret lies beneath the surface—it’s all about the roots. The tree that flourishes has roots deep enough to reach the water table, while the others wait for rain and external nourishment.
I think love works in the same way. We often look to imperfect humans for perfect love, but the truth is, the only way to access that deep, unconditional love is by connecting to our source—whether you call it Soul, Spirit, God, Jesus, or Energy. When we’re deeply rooted in our source, we have access to an infinite supply of love. This allows us to 1) give love from a place of abundance, and 2) stop depending on others to fill our emotional cup.
I believe our commitment to staying connected to this source is what truly transforms our lives. The deeper we go, the more love we have to give, and the more we can impact the world around us.
At some point, we need to stop living life from the outside in. Once you make that shift, you begin living from the inside out. What does that mean? It means instead of seeking validation, approval, or acceptance from others, you start generating love and fulfillment from within yourself.
When you realize that you have the power to create these states of being from within, you reclaim your own power. And once you learn to generate love and peace within yourself, you can hold that space for others. This inner transformation creates a ripple effect that can shift the world around you.
I hope you’ve had a wonderful day. I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from Gandhi: “Where there is love, there is life.”"Rooted in Love: Living from the Inside Out"
