WELCOME
You belong here.
Walking into a yoga studio for the first time takes courage. If you're here, that already says something powerful about you. Your first week is completely free — no commitment, no card required.
A NOTE FOR BEGINNERS
Whatever brought you here — it's enough.
At Sumit's Yoga, we truly love welcoming new students. Maybe you're here because you want to get stronger, reduce stress, bring balance to your life, heal physically or emotionally — or simply feel better in your body again.

All of those reasons are welcome here. Every single one.
-
You don't need to be flexible
-
You don't need to be in shape
-
You don't need to know what you're doing
Our experienced teachers are here to guide, support, and take care of you, every step of the way. Breaks are encouraged. Modifications are always offered. Your practice is your own, and we honor that.

Yoga is not about pushing past your limits — it's about learning to listen, building awareness, and showing up with kindness toward yourself. Over time, strength builds. Confidence grows. Balance returns. And something deeper begins to shift — not just in the body, but in the mind and heart as well.
"Yoga doesn't ask you to change who you are — it invites you to meet yourself where you are, and grow from there."
— SUMIT BANERJEE, FOUNDER
You are not here to compete.
You are not here to be perfect.
You are here to begin again.
You're allowed to just show up.
TAKE BREAKS WHENEVER YOU NEED
Laying down or sitting quietly on your mat is always an option. The desire for breaks fades as you focus on your breath and get adjusted to your environment.
USE MODIFICATIONS — ALWAYS
Every posture has a version that works for your body today. Our teachers offer modifications in every class. Where you are is exactly where you're supposed to be.
GO AT YOUR OWN PACE
Yoga is a lifelong practice, not a competition. As long as you're focused on your breath and doing your best, you'll receive all the benefits — regardless of how it looks.
Before your first class
01
ARRIVE EARLY
Please arrive 15–20 minutes before class. You'll fill out a quick registration form and discuss any injuries or health issues with your instructor prior to class.
02
BRING YOUR GEAR
Bring a yoga mat, a long towel, and water. Each student needs all three in the practice room.
Mat rental $5 · Towel rental $5
03
DRESS TO SWEAT
Wear breathable fabric you feel comfortable sweating in. No shoes or socks needed in the practice room. Showers are available after class.
04
COME HYDRATED
Drink plenty of water throughout your day before class. Come on a relatively empty stomach — a few hours after your last meal is usually ideal.
Electrolytes help before, during, and after
05
STAY FOR THE FULL CLASS
We ask that you remain in the yoga room for the entire class. If you must leave early, let the instructor know before class so they can help with the least disruption.
TRUST THE PROCESS
06
Yoga is for all ages and all body types. The benefits come from the breath and the presence — not the perfection of the posture. Just keep showing up.
